P1/1 - Mrs Connor

About our teacher:

Mrs Connor lived in Lichfield and returned to Rothesay in 1996. She has been teaching at Rothesay Primary for 12 years.

What we will be studying this term:

Investigating addition and subtraction with numbers to 10

Learn correct letter and number formation

Learn how to write our own stories

We will learn all our single sounds and make words with them on our magnet

boards. We will learn double sounds and blends.

We will learn vocabulary from the Oxford Reading Tree as well as personal vocabulary

to help us develop our reading skills.

Our outings in this Session:

Last session primary one visited Fun World. Our outings are discussed as part of the planning for our topics or themes and pupils are part of this decision making process.

Other things that we do that you will find interesting:

P1 are part of a new pilot to learn through play. We call this 'active learning'. Primary 1 parents were invited into our class to watch us at work. They had fun too!

In December we performed The Nativity Story for everyone at the United Church of Bute.
